Independence Day 2011

This morning as we celebrate the birth of our free nation, we went to the park and joined our old Everett 4th Ward for their pancake breakfast.    The food was good and the kids really enjoyed playing at the park.

Emily & Sydney

Spinning and spinning....looks like Drew is about to get sick.  He's just having a good time.

After breakfast, Jeff and I dropped Syd off at her friends house for the day and we took Drew to do some Nordstrom Rack shopping.  It was conveniently close to us so we had to stop there.  Afterwards, we went to eat at Five Guys burgers.  I had been there without Jeff and since we don't have one near our home I had to take him there.  We met our friends, the Bujnowski's for lunch.  Then we had to hit the frozen yogurt shop next door for some sweet treats.  Yum!

Even the adults enjoyed it.  Thanks for coming with us John & Aunna!  We had a great time.

After we filled up, we went to see Transformers 3.  We all really enjoyed it.  Once the movie was over, we headed to the Platteborze's home for a BBQ with great friends.

When it started to get dark, we got serious and started lighting our fireworks.  They pale in comparison to the ones that are sold in California.  These are full fledged fireworks and with all the fireworks going on around  (including a neighbor's whose when non stop for 3 hours) it was a great show.

Haley doing her old school metal sparklers.  Yes, they are legal in WA, and no she didn't burn herself.

What a cute couple!  This is not a fashion statement I want to endorse.  I was cold and all we had in our car was beach towels.

Sarah Platteborze and I are sitting close up to stay warm and awake.  This was about 11pm at night and fireworks were still going on.

Sweet Haley and Kristen

Drew is like the energizer bunny.  This was at 11pm and although he is exhausted, he was having a great time with Rachel P.

Much thanks to the Platteborze family for hosting a BBQ for us while we were in town.  We had such a fun time hanging out with all our great friends.

Below are amazing photos captured by my friend Emily during our 4th of July festivities (THANKS EMILY!):
