Tonight at Christmas Eve dinner the children put on a Nativity play. Sydney was Mary and Drew was baby Jesus. I'll post pictures later. It was cute. The play was ended by Carter, my 5 year old nephew recited a scripture out of John in the New Testament. It was a great way to end the night, the true meaning of Christmas, the birth of our Savior.

We have had a busy year. Here is a quick summary of our busy lives and schedules:
We took quite a few vacations in California. Spring break was spent in Southern California, spending 2 days at Disneyland (our favorite place) and 4 days with family. We spent a few days in a beach house at Bodega Bay with Jeff's sister and her family. We had another family reunion with Kristen's family at Santa Cruz. We loved the Boardwalk & spending time with family. We traveled to Kristen's parents' house numerous times for holidays and a 60th surprise party for Kristen's dad.
*Jeff continues to work at Blue Shield as a Financial Analyst. He loves his 10 minute commute. He spent a few days in northern Nevada hunting antelope. The trip was a success and he even put the bloody antelope in his new Tacoma truck. He has continued to work on house projects. Thankfully his dad is close to assist Jeff. In September, Jeff had surgery on his elbow to remove a cyst. Now he can golf and snowboard again.
*Kristen transitioned to a Registered Nurse position, and is now working part-time and enjoying it. Working nights on the telemetry floor has its challenges, but thankfully she can sleep anytime, anywhere. In May, Kristen ran her first 10K and continues her love of running. She also went on a trip with the young women to Bodega Bay. She continues to keep busy with work, volunteering in 3 classes, 1st counselor in YW and reading books.
*Haley turned 10 and started 5th grade. Haley ran on the school cross country team and in their love of running, Haley & Kristen ran a 5K in September. She is on the student council and is doing great in school. She continues to play piano and in the school band she plays the saxophone. She is sweet & constantly happy.
*Sydney turned 8 and started 3rd grade. She was baptized by Jeff and a lot of family came for her special day. She was the spelling bee champion at school and wants to do it again this school year. She is a good student and continues to bring life to any situation. In the spring, both Haley & Sydney played their first season of softball. They were both on championship teams. What a way to kick off a new sport. They can't wait until spring 2011.
*Drew turned 5 and graduated from preschool and started Kindergarten. In his preschool graduation he said he wanted to be a nurse like his mom. He loves math and enjoys reading new words. Drew had surgery this year and he recovered quickly. This summer he learned to swim and he's officially a fish in the water. With all the tumbling he does in the house, we enrolled him in a boys tumbling class and he loves it!
We enjoy this time of the year to reflect on the Savior's birth and the example he set for us. We hope this Christmas card finds you well. May God bless you in all you do.
