San Fransisco Part 3

At the end of the day, we ventured over to the Golden Gate Bridge. It is a symbol of freedom to all the immigrants who came by ship to America. It is such an iconic monument, we had to take the kids there. Just below the bridge is Fort Point.

Fort Point is located at the southern side of the Golden Gate at the entrance to San Fransisco Bay. It was completed just before the Civil War, to defend San Francisco Bay against hostile warships. The fort is now protected as Fort Point National Historic Site.

The fort has so much rich history, it was so nice to visit. Unfortunately, we didn't have as much time as I would have liked to have spent there. There were so many rooms with vintage and antique memorabilia. It also showcased a lot of canons which the kids thought was cool.

At the top of Fort Point, I got great pictures of the kids. This one of Drew is by far my favorite. I just love the Golden Gate Bridge as the background, the American flag, and he's wearing a superhero shirt. Love it!
